The Department of Defense (DoD) issued a draft version of the Cybersecurity Maturity Model (CMMC). The certification sets cyber standards and practices designed to help the defense industrial base reduce exfiltration of controlled unclassified information. The v0.4 draft has five levels, ranging from basic cyber hygiene to highly advanced practices. Each of the five levels has specific parameters that need to be conducted by stakeholders to achieve a capability.
The Pentagon is accepting feedback on the V0.4 framework through September 25. The plan is to release v.06 for public review in November, and have the final framework released in January 2020.
