The Department of Defense is well on track to set a new record in spending on other transaction agreements, or OTAs, by the end of fiscal 2019.
Bloomberg Government found the DoD will spend $7 billion using this alternative procurement approach. It passed its previous record for OTAs, four-billion-dollars, in the first seven months of 2019. $7 billion may be a conservative projection as fiscal 2014-2108 defense agencies issues 70% of total OTA obligations during the second half of each fiscal year.
According to Bgov.com, Microsoft was the largest individual OTA recipient so far in fiscal 2019.
